The KWF Podcast

Sep 14, 2023 | Readers, Uncategorized, Writers

We have a podcast! Join Artistic Director Aara Macauley and Tricia Knowles for a weekly 20 – 30-minute conversation with a roster of amazing Canadian authors. While the festival is book-focussed, this podcast aims to celebrate the creators behind the work, as we talk about their process, their struggles, and their inspirations. What drives them to write? How do they navigate failure, and is failure, sometimes, even a good thing?

You’ll hear from authors of diverse backgrounds, both emerging and established and in all genres, including Jessica Johns, Alicia Elliott, Tanis MacDonald, Paul Vermeersch, Otoniya J. Okot Bitek, and Adrian Michael Kelly, just to name a few.

We hope that this year-round literary experience will allow us to strengthen our engagement with local audiences, while also expanding our reach to new demographics, communities, and distance audiences. It will also offer those with barriers – whether mobility, health, time, or finance-related – that prevent them from attending live events an opportunity to experience a taste of the festival at their leisure.

This podcast is made possible with the funding support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund and the Kingston Arts Council Adapt Grant. Thank you!
